To not to pay does not pay off!
If a fine is imposed on you for a traffic offense, pay it. Otherwise, you may be unpleasantly surprised.
What happens if I do not pay the fine for the traffic offense within the deadline?
As a part of traffic checks, the Customs officers and Police officers have access to information systems where they can verify any unpaid fines for traffic offenses.
In case any arrears are found, the authorities will ask you to pay them during the traffic check.
If you do not pay the arrears on the spot (cash or credit card), the authorities are entitled to prevent your vehicle from its further operation by using a locking device or confiscating the vehicle´s registration plates. In case the registration plate is not handed over by the driver, the authorities shall seize it.
In case of operating a vehicle without a registration plate, the driver of such a vehicle risks a fine and a ban on driving.
These powers apply to both the driver´s and the vehicle operator´s offences.
Follow the rules on Czech roads and highways, protect yourself. However, if you break the rules and a fine is imposed on you, pay it within the deadline to avoid unpleasant surprises during the next traffic check.
