Sections in which lorries are forbidden from overtaking

Again, we warn you that there are several sections of the Czech motorways in which lorries are forbidden from overtaking. Breaking this law, which the Czech police strictly enforce, carries the threat of a one-year driving ban and a considerable fine.

Overtaking is forbidden and is marked by traffic signs in the following sections:

D1: km 179.0 – 203.9 and km 205.5 – 210.3 in the direction of Brno and km 210.5 – 185.85 in the opposite direction; between Průhonice and Prague; in the Klimkovice tunnel

D5: km 0.0 – 11.5 and km 14.8 – 22.5 in the direction of Plzeň and km 14.8 – 9.0 and km 6.0 – 0.0 in the opposite direction

D8: km 0.0 – 9.0 in the direction away from Prague and from km 6.0 – 0.0 in the opposite direction, in the Prackovice-Radejčín and Libouchec-Panenská tunnels

 D11: km 0.0 – 8.0 in both directions.
