Large rest area at Šlovice near Pilsen on D5 motorway to accommodate more lorries
An entirely new high-capacity rest area for lorries is now in operation near the petrol station on the 83rd km of the D5 motorway. Seventy-two parking spaces for lorries were added on both sides of the motorway, so in total there are now 135 parking spaces. The number of places for lorries has more than doubled, to the detriment of positions for personal vehicles.
A telematics system will be installed at the rest area for monitoring the occupancy of vehicles, including guidance to the location of free spaces. Drivers will therefore already know at the entrance how many free spaces there are and exactly where they are.
