Watch for maintenance employees when driving on highways

Our articles include warnings about the situations on Czech roads during necessary road works. However, let us not forget about maintenance employees, who are present in greater numbers on the roads or in parked vehicles during road repairs. We would like to mention an event from April 2020, when a Romanian truck driver ran into the vehicle of the maintenance employees of the Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic on highway D2 near Lanžhot in the Břeclav region. A young employee of the maintenance crew died as a result of the collision. The driver was charged with a manslaughter and will probably spend several years in prison. Moreover, he will have to live with the feeling of guilt that he killed a person.
