Beware of height restrictions

Lorry drivers often forget height restrictions set for driving under bridges or in cities where there are overhead lines for trams or trolleybuses. They are usually warned of this fact before reaching critical stretches of road, either in the form of a sign or height-restriction markings on the bridge.

Please respect these signs and markings so that you do not find yourself in the same situation as one driver from Romania who ripped down the overhead tram lines in Prague with his lorry. The driver failed to stop and continued driving. Several police patrols from the surrounding areas went after the lorry and caught up with it six minutes later. The driver was punished and the damage caused was valued at CZK 120,000.
