The Czech Republic is preparing a new penalty point system
According to the new system, there will be a threat of stricter sanctions for drivers who use a telephone while driving. Using a telephone will be classified as an offence of medium severity and will thus carry the threat of a fine of 2,500 Czech crowns and 4 penalty points.
The supervisory bodies will also focus on unpaid fines. During check-ups, the police and customs officers will make demands for payments of outstanding unpaid fines. In the severest cases, they will be able to remove and confiscate the vehicle license plates.
